Bruno Maçães

Bruno Maçães is a non-resident senior fellow at the Hudson Institute and senior advisor at Flint Global. Formerly Portugal’s Europeminister (2013-15), he has been a regular commentator for CNN, the BBC and AlJazeera, and has written for the Financial Times, The Guardian and Foreign Affairs. In 2018, The Dawn ofEurasia: On the Trail of the New World Order was published which provides aportrait of the shifting border lands between Europe and Asia, tracking the economic integration of the two continents into a new super continent: Eurasia.His latest book is Belt and Road: A Chinese World Order in which he traces initiative’s extraordinary history,highlights its achievements to date, and its staggering complexity, and asks whether it might he rald a new set of universal political values.
