Chloé Froissart is a senior researcher at the French Center for Research on Contemporary China (Hong Kong) and Director of the Tsinghua University Sino-French Center in Social Sciences. Her research focuses on civil society development, political participation, citizenship, labor, and environmental politics in China. She sits on the editorial boards of China Perspectives and Critique Internationale.
Her English publications namely include: “The ambiguities between contention and political participation. A study of civil society development in authoritarian regimes” (Journal of Civil Society, 10(3), 2014: 219-222); “Legal Reforms and Social Protest in a State with No Rule of Law: the Chinese Experiments” (Le Mouvement social, 2013/3 (244): 47-65); “NGOs Defending Migrant Workers’ Rights: Semi-union organizations contribute to the regime’s dynamic stability” (China Perspectives, 2011/2 :18-25).
