Jernej Kusterle

Jernej Kusterle (1987) is a professor of Slovenian language, literature and culture at the School of European Languages, Literature and Culture at Beijing International Studies University. He has a master’s degree in Slovenian studies and is a PhD student at the Institute of Slovenian Literature and LiteraryStudies. He has published three books of poetry: Poetical Freedom (2004), Never-ending Fields of Digital Thoughts (2012) and Typescript: Genesis (2016). He has also released a rap album entitled Diary Notes (2007). He is an editor of The Iron Workers’ Lyrics – The Anthology of Jesenice Poets (2014), for which he got an award from the Public Fund of Slovenia for Cultural Activities. His poetry was published in several Slovene and foreign literary magazines. He is the founder and organizer of a poetry festival called Verzionar and The BISU Breeze Festival.
