Jon Bilbao (b. 1972 in Ribadesella, Spain) studied mining engineering and English literature. His first novel El hermano de las moscas (2008) was a revision of Kafka’s The Metamorphosis. In 2010 he published Padres, hijos y primates, which is available in English under the title Still the Same Man, which explores man’s deepest and darkest instincts. Shakespeare y la ballena blanca, published in 2013, is a reflection on the creative process that brings together William Shakespeare and Moby Dick in a historical tragedy. Bilbao’s short stories have been widely anthologized, and he has three short fiction collections.
