The Opium War Event Cancelled, Online Chat with Julia Lovell Added

The Opium War -Drugs, Dreams and the Making of China (3/17) event with Julia Lovell has been cancelled.

However, while Julia Lovell is unable to attend BLF due to personal reasons, she will be participating in a Live Chat on the festival blog. She’ll discuss with us the Opium War’s causes as well as its current resonance in China’s foreign policy. You will be able to ask Lovell questions in real time.

The Opium Wars Live Chat has been scheduled for Tuesday, 6 March 7:30pm (Beijing Time)
